There’s something special about the way Atria feels like home. It’s not just the inviting amenities – it’s the genuine connections with real people who greet you with a smile and make sure each day feels warm and welcoming.
Embracing change with a positive outlook
At Atria, every challenge is a chance to do something better. Our team doesn’t just react to change – they step up with a positive attitude and a commitment to making things work.
“Within every challenge lies opportunity,” says Kristy Grange, Senior Vice President of Holiday by Atria North. Earlier this year, when Hidden Lakes in Salem, Oregon, needed new leadership, Kristy knew exactly who could help. She turned to two outstanding Canadian team members, Alison Carey from Atria Sherbrooke Heights in Ontario and Jeffery Angeles from Amber Meadow in Manitoba. Both of them understand what it takes to create a strong, supportive community.
Leadership that feels like family
What really makes Atria special isn’t just the great amenities – it’s the people. Our Canadian leaders helped new residents feel at home from the moment they arrived.
“It’s not easy to step into a new senior living community and quickly build trust, but we’re lucky to have people who can do just that,” Kristy says.
Alison and Jeffery jumped in to support Hidden Lakes, bringing their dedicated leadership and genuine care. Their goal was simple: make sure everything ran smoothly so residents and staff felt comfortable and supported.
“I said yes because I believe in what we do and trust our vision for these communities,” Alison says. “When I help another building, I focus on what’s possible. I love seeing everything come together to create a warm, welcoming place to live.”
Our communities support each other
Choosing Atria means joining a big, supportive family. At Hidden Lakes, our team quickly figured out what needed to be done, reassured residents and got everything back on track.
As Kristy recalls, “Jeffery and Alison arrived, looked at what each department needed and worked with employees to get things running smoothly again. It was amazing to watch.”
Jeffery adds, “I trust the training I’ve received and feel ready for situations like this. We have a strong system in place, and I love sharing what works with other communities.”
Mentorship that makes a difference
Leadership at Atria isn’t just about getting through the day – it’s about supporting each other. Experienced team members like Alison share what they’ve learned to help others grow. She still checks in with Hidden Lakes’ new General Manager every week to make sure things are running smoothly and, most importantly, that residents continue to feel at home.
A stable and supportive place to live
What makes Atria special is our focus on people. It’s more than just a place to live – it’s a place where friendly faces, warm conversations and caring gestures make all the difference.
“When one community needs help, others step in,” Kristy explains. That sense of teamwork and support is why so many people choose Atria for their retirement. Our team works together to make every Atria community feel like home.
