Q: How much does it cost to live at Atria Retirement Canada?

A: Rental rates for each community differ. But many residents find out that a lifestyle of chef-prepared meals, engaging events - and freedom from the chores and worries that come with living at home - is surprisingly affordable.

Q: Must new residents pay a security deposit when moving into an Atria Retirement Canada community?

A: In most of our communities, no security deposit is required. The only up-front fee that may be required is a community fee. Because this varies by community and by province, check with the community of your choice for more information.

Q: Can I bring my own furnishings?

A: Absolutely. This is your home, and you should have all the comforts and furnishings you enjoy. Atria Retirement Canada residents take pride in decorating their apartments and entrances as a way of adding their own personal touch to their homes.

Q: Can I bring my dog or cat?

A: We know your pet is an important member of the family. That's why every Atria Retirement Canada community allows residents to have dogs or cats in their apartment. Size and temperament requirements vary, so check with the community you are considering for more details.

Q: Do Atria Retirement Canada communities allow smoking?

A: We are sensitive to the health needs of all of our residents, so most Atria Retirement Canada communities are non-smoking environments. However, some of our communities offer dedicated areas for residents and their guests to smoke, and some allow residents to smoke in the privacy of their own apartment. Check with the community of your choice for more information.

Q: Are emergency call systems available?

A: Yes. In order to ensure our residents feel safe at all times, Atria Retirement Canada communities provide emergency call systems. Speak with our Executive Director for more details.

Q: What kinds of events and activities are offered?

A: Residents often tell us that since moving to Atria Retirement Canada, their social calendars are busier than ever. That's because of our signature Engage Life® events program, which is based on residents' hobbies and interests. Every event and activity on our social calendar is designed to touch on at least one of eight specific dimensions of engagement that comprise a fulfilling lifestyle.

When you move into one of our communities, our Engage Life Director will spend time getting to know you and exploring your interests. From concerts and lectures, theater and exercise, classes and games, services and celebrations, shopping and museums, movies and dances, and so much more - there is always something fun and interesting to do.

Q: How's the food?

A: At Atria Retirement Canada, we eat well. You'll enjoy three delicious meals every day in our community dining venues. Menus are planned to meet your nutritional needs. No-concentrated-sweets and no-salt-added diets are easily accommodated, and requests are always welcome.

But there's only so much we can say, so drop by a community for lunch and sample the menu yourself.

Q: How much privacy will I have?

A: In short, as much as you want. Even though we offer a wealth of events, activities and delicious meals, you are free to spend your time how and where you like. Though, with a community full of interesting people and things to do, you'll likely find your inner social butterfly.

Q: Is transportation provided?

A: Yes. Residents of Atria Retirement Canada enjoy access to scheduled, local transportation for appointments and errands.
